CHARACTER PLOTTING

CHARACTER PLOTTING
Welcome to Viva La's Character Plotting post! This is a permanent post that will be re-linked at the beginning of the month where players can workshop character concepts and plan CR or plots.
Players are encouraged to look through and comment on past and current entries made by others. While this is not required, we recommend having a frozen comment reply on your top-level to use for noting potential connections or plans.
OU CHARACTERS
OU (Original Universe) characters are apped to the game unchanged from their original source material. Original Characters (OCs) who are pulled from their respective, original setting are included in this group. OU Characters reach Esthere through the Empire’s use of the Servant’s Gate, a powerful portal that draws people from other worlds into this one. The Empire has set the gate in an enclosed room where they will immediately subdue the target, strip them of all their gear, and press them into servitude. But, the gate doesn’t always work as intended, so characters may arrive somewhere outside of the room and manage to escape before being enslaved by the Empire. Either way, the characters will come in either as established Crimson Corsairs who are just stepping into the spotlight having been found or liberated prior, or newly-found or liberated members who are joining the Crimson Corsairs. OU characters can use this post to seek potential CR or preestablished CR if they’re coming in as more experienced members.
AU CHARACTERS
AU (Alternate Universe) characters are characters from established canons (including original settings for OCs) whose backstory has been adapted to fit within the game setting. For AU characters, they may resemble their canon counterparts quite a bit, but they were born in the world of Esthere and have always lived there. AU characters are encouraged to use this post to develop who they are and what their place is in the world, which could include things like familial connections to other AU characters and achievements prior to the start of the game. AU characters will either be established members of the Crimson Corsairs who are just now stepping into the spotlight, or they can be green recruits who just joined up.

Comments will have potential characters
Captain Harlock
Canon: Space Pirate Captain Harlock (79 anime)/Leiji-verse
Character Blurb: The original Space Pirate. Harlock is a man who values freedom above all else, but disdain those who would use their strength to harm those weaker than them. He's extremely attached to his ship (implied to be possessed by the soul of his best friend) and is the godfather to a seven year old girl that he's fiercely protective of.
Faction: Flotson combatant
Arrival: introing after being rescued works the best.
Desired CR: Crew! Either Harlock gathering a new crew, or deciding to join somebody else's and deal with the fact that he's not in charge. The more offbeat the crew, the better, he may act stoic, but he is a stealth gremlin enabler. He also enjoys teasing more "regularly military types" as he respects commitment, but disdains authority.
IC Plans: Harlock's ship the Arcadia is in the Empire's hands, and under heavy lockdown - and he wants it back. He'll eventually will attempt to bust his ship and add its strength against the Empire.

Don Diego de la Vega / Zorro
Canon: Zorro (Disney series)
Character Blurb: A classic vigilante, by day, Diego is a pacifist and utterly incompetent at combat arts, but noted as a strong advocate. By night, Zorro is the cunning fox who frees the wrongfully imprisoned, humiliate the soldiers of Spain on a regular basis, and oust the many corrupt Commandantes and Governors of Spanish California.
Faction: Elysium Infiltrator,
Character AU Name: no name change, assuming his family's from a region that's been conquered relatively recently and is being forcibly integrating. Family is Gallant-rank.
AU Blurb: Roughly the same plot beat, Diego is aware of the corruption in the regional ruler of his family's homeland, and knowing his Father's hotheadedness wasn't going to work, he play at being a wimpy legal scholar while secretly becoming a daring thief and vigilante that exposes, humiliates, and frightens the corrupt. The big difference is instead of one man, he has a full on spy ring of servants, low-grade government employees and soldiers that report to Zorro about things they overhear.
Preestablished CR Hooks: In canon, he just has his father, but I'm open to Diego having siblings/cousins. But more importantly - Spies! Zorro has spies among upper-case and lower-case Servants (and willing to help the ones that want to escape to do so), to try to track the machinations of the Empire.
Desired CR + Hooks: Double-identity shenanigans! I want people who like Diego but detest Zorro and vice-versa. It'd be fun if there are other vigilante/spy-type characters to cooperate and clash with (or even take as a potential successor to the Zorro identity should things happen)
IC Plans: Roughly, he currently thinks if he just roots out enough corrupt bureaucrats and generals that things will get better, but he'll have to learn the root of corruption runs DEEP and expand his scope.
Other: Zorro the fox so cunning and free

SNUFKIN
Canon: Moomins
Character Blurb: The quiet, poetical and asocial wanderer who comes and goes with the seasons, Snufkin has a burning disdain for parks and wealth, preferring the wilderness. He's often the voice of reason, but also an eager crimeboy.
Faction: Undecided, supplier or infiltrator
<--!AU SPECIFIC ONLY!-->
Character AU Name: Same, as funny as it'd be to force people to spell out his original name, I won't make people suffer.
AU Blurb: Either a Halfling or a Nature-themed Planetouched that can be mistaken for a Halfling, Snufkin is a wanderer who regular visits a hard-to-access islet. He's even more of an anti-development, seeing what happens when islands are overmined, and became a full-on eco-terrorist against mining companies and rich gentry as well as Park Keepers.
Preestablished CR Hooks: People who explore the wilderness, dungeons and aware of this strange loner who somehow managed not to get his butt killed. He's often a wandering advice giver and helper, having been observing the general world.
Desired CR + Hooks: found family, though given his aversion to too much socialization, this may be rough. But being willing to do CRIMES will help. He also has a fondness for gentle, fussy sorts, or loud-mouthed brats.
IC Plans: Going from "Whatever, I'm not part of YOUR revolution" to actually giving a damn

Maomao | Apothecary Diaries
Canon: Apothecary Diaries
Character Blurb: An apothecary that gets kidnapped and forced to work in the Outer Palace. Through her skills and curiosity, she ends up solving several mysterious and winds up as a poison tester for the emperor's top concubine while being forced to solve more mysteries by the enigmatic manager of the Outer Palace.
Faction: Elysium
Character AU Name: If it needs to be Germanic, then Maomao will be a nickname she prefers.
AU Blurb: As in canon, except instead of the imperial palace, she's working for a higher noble's concubine. Then she gets rescued and joins up.
She was raised in the red light district of Elysium before being kidnapped, so she settles back in there after being saved while this time taking a more active anti-empire role in things.
Preestablished CR Hooks: She was already an Apothecary in the red light district of Elysium, so there's that of your character is from our frequents there. She also gets involved in solving murders and other investigations a lot. Other than that, she was basically enslaved as a servant and then poison taster for a noble if your character has a similar past, or maybe the recent rescue involved your character?
Desired CR + Hooks: In canon, her father is a stupidly high ranked member of the imperial court, unbeknownst to her for a long while, so it's possible that a VILLAIN takes over this role.
As for family, she's also open to an adopted parental figure or self-proclaimed siblings among people who live in Elysium. (She's 17/18 if that helps.)
Then idk whatever. I've got hooks in the other section. Also get her a girlfriend. Or a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend (hi Jinshi.)
IC Plans: Gonna be a supplier making medicines and poisons. Lives in Elysium. Idk what else.
Other: Tags can be expected in the afternoon and on weekends mostly.

Project: Medusa / Andromeda | OC
Canon: Mecha Tabletop
Character Blurb: A part of a project by shady moon-based laboratory Chimera to artificially produce the next stage of human evolution, Project Medusa was raised entirely within the confines of a laboratory and learning nothing of the outside. Due to one accident in the lab where she briefly escaped, she learned about the concept of "freedom" and "free will" and made the determination to escape for real one day. Due to her nature as an artificially enhanced human, she can control mecha with a finesse impossible for others. (She's an artificial newtype okay.)
Faction: Either Flotsom OR Vault. I have Maomao in Elysium. She'd do terribly there anyway.
Character AU Name: Designation "Project: Medusa"
AU Blurb: (Another) Imperial experiment to create a type of human that can better connect with and pilot the Armors that the Empire utilizes. She was raised entirely within a laboratory and has severe health issues as a result of the experimental procedures. During some preliminary test runs before actual deployment, she presumably escapes / is rescued by a Crimson Corsair raid wherein they attempt to destroy the "new Imperial weapon," thinking it's a new type of armor and not a new type of pilot.
Her powers are the general sort of mecha-newtype nonsense. She can sense other people with similar powers, can sometimes get flashes of others' memories, she hears voices that are actually other people's thoughts (not usually very clearly though), has heightened reaction times, can synchronize with multiple systems at once, etc. The downside of these powers are chronic head pain, auditory and visual hallucinations (she doesn't know how much of these are her powers at work and which are not,) and occasional blackouts.
Also she's like, 14, if that helps determine the nature of any potential CR.
Preestablished CR Hooks:
1. The Good Imperial: Andi only knows about the concepts of human freedom and free will because she once got Loose from the lab about 1-5 years ago and met somebody who tried to help her out. Given that she's from an Imperial lab, though, this narrows down possible characters to those nice ones within the Empire at the time. The context of "helping out" can vary depending on the character but either way she learned about being free from them, which sparked her desire to live for herself. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOUR CHARACTER? PLEASE APPLY!
2. The Rescue Team: Or rather, the team within the Crimson Corsairs that (VERY recently - within a couple days or weeks of the start of game preferably) went to destroy a new Imperial weapon and ended up bringing back a girl instead.
3. Fellow Experiments: I Know there are more characters out there starting with this kind of origin, so I will say that while Project Medusa was often isolated from human contact, she was "Allowed" a certain amount of socialization, but only from other experiments within the labs. This would likely be somehow supervised but it's still possible she has a friendship already with somebody similar to herself.
Desired CR + Hooks: Looking for character/characters that Project Medusa can unhealthily(healthily?) latch onto because she has absolutely no idea how the world outside of her lab works or how people operate or how anything.
She'll also probably need a doctor or other healer or something to look after her health.
Love interests optional (I realize she's going to be younger than most characters so this is unlikely. Also she is gay and does not know it yet.)
IC Plans: Aiming to get an Armor of some kind so she can properly Fin Funnel System all over the place and actually be useful.
Other than that, Medusa's character arc is all about learning how to properly BE human from the people around her. About not knowing how anything works and slowly learning and coming to terms with the world. About learning about injustice, and wanting to see it corrected. Seeing the world through new eyes and deciding it needs to be fixed.
Other: (I need icons. Also here have a meme.)

Chaos Greed | OC
Character Name: Chaos Greed
Canon: OC
Character Blurb: A squad of space marines form a bond of friendship and mutual respect with a team of precures, but with the serial numbers filed off. Chaos Greed is a manifestation of Aos, who is a manifestation of Chaos but Kid-Friendly, who takes her job Very Seriously (not seriously at all.) Her job is to gather magical energy usually by pulling out people's inner greed and manifesting it as a giant monster (they're called Sinistrals) based on a random nearby object. Her job gets harder when those guys in armor and guns showed up, though!
Faction: Undecided
Arrival: She would immediately sign up to work for the Empire and then just as quickly turn around and vamoose the second she gets a better offer from the Corsairs. She works for CHAOS that is the OPPOSITE of the Empire, if anything they should have seen it coming! It's in her NAME!
Desired CR:
1. Please let her turn you into a giant monster by drawing out your inner greed it's FINE she PROMISES
2. People who don't trust her / want to keep her on a short leash (she needs it, probably)
3. as always, my characters are GAY and AVAILABLE (this time in magical girl villain variety!)
IC Plans: She is going to be REALLY annoying and cause SO much chaos, it's not even funny. (It'll be funny.)
Please somebody keep her on a leash

Characters in comments!
Musse Egret
Canon: Trails of Cold Steel
Character Blurb: A clever young woman and member of the Thors Officer Academy Branch Campus and a skilled rifle user. Extremely horny on main. Actually highly intelligent and playing political and wartime 5D chess.
Faction: Elysium
Character AU Name: Same as canon since Erebonia is ALSO very Germanic
AU Blurb: Musse is the daughter of a Count, her family having been killed in some conflict and having been secret rebel sympathizers. Her terrible uncle is now in charge of her house, and she's been hanging out in Elysium like a spoiled rich girl who isn't really going anywhere. While there, she's been honing her magic and combat abilities and working with the Crimson Corsairs to support the rebellion like her parents and to see what the real world is like outside of the excesses of Imperial nobility.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Musse will probably be a Combatant/Negotiator, she's a noble of relatively high rank within the Empire even if she has no actual power and doesn't have a great reputation in high society so she is able to get away with quite a bit in Elysium away from the more watchful Imperials. I'm looking for fellow Elysium dwellers who she can be helping to support by passing information and resources to, among other things.
Desired CR + Hooks: Characters who fluster easily so Musse can be a shameless flirt at and make blush. Characters who are ALSO extremely shameless she can be bros with. Insightful characters who can see past her facade and support her when she needs it.
IC Plans: I'll probably not have her as an active combatant as much right away since that would obviously blow her cover, but I expect she'll be getting her Uncle arrested eventually so she can take over the estate and use it for the greater good.

Selene of Diamond Blades
Canon: OC
Character Blurb: An Illustrata, a long-lived magical race that rules her world and exploits its abundance of magic and the expense of another world. She is the highest merit grade of the lowest class within her society and has been an active member in a populist rebellion against the upper class.
Faction: Flotsom
Character AU Name: Only if the character's name will be changed.
AU Blurb: Tell us what you have in mind for your character's backstory. Be as thorough or concise as you want
Arrival: She'll have come in through the Servant's Gate and been pressed into slavery by the Empire until liberated by the Crimson Corsairs.
Desired CR: Selene is a biiiit fight-horny so other melee combatants who like swords and training and the like are most welcome. She's incapable of using the flashier feats of magic expected by her society, but she can forge herself just about any weapon she wants and is skilled at using them so she's a terror in combat and would make fast friends with other fighter-types who have a love of the mastery of combat and the thrill of battle. She's also usually a fairly demure and serious lady-knight persona, so more serious political and tactical maneuverers would be welcome. She's quite sharp, she just has a tendency to go wild when she can finally test her blades against worthy opponents.
IC Plans: I'm pretty open at the moment, I'm mostly expecting her to eagerly join the rebellion and start taking names on the battlefield. I DO plan on having her get her specialized armor that she and her partner pilot in tandem, so I'd be keen to have her join a ship crew at some point.

ERIC CHARACTERS
Player Pronouns: he/him

Will add in comments for a VARIETY of characters later tonight!
Ziel of the Wastelands
Canon: Cradle
Character Blurb: Cultivator takes grievous spiritual wound and loses most of his powers while also watching his sect get massacred. Gets depression, but can't quite get himself to fully give up. He has horns and a big hammer.
Faction: Undecided. Maybe Flotsam, they specialize in recovering junk, after all.
Character AU Name: Ziel
AU Blurb: The Dawnwing martial arts school trains up monster hunters, trained to fight monsters ten times their size and win. To fight armors on foot. It was a prestigious school for insane badasses, until they bit off more than they could chew. SOME kind of force bigger than they could handle that isn't the Empire itself attacked the school and destroyed it. Ziel led the survivors away, hoping to find safety in a nearby imperial stronghold.
Unfortunately, some nefarious imperial decided it would be way funnier if, instead of offering sanctuary, they killed all the refugee trainee dawnwings (possibly because the school was strong enough that it could resist imperial decrees sometimes) and steal their power. Ziel fought to cover their retreat to his last breath, and utterly failed to save anyone. His opponent didn't kill him, though. They left him alive, but horribly wounded, both in body and spirit.
Ziel, formerly a HUGE badass with a name known and respected across Esthere, is now a shadow of the man he once was. Using more than like 3% of his former strength causes him endless agony. He's searching for a way to heal himself, but he isn't that motivated. Why bother with revenge? It won't bring back the dead.
But an ember of the heroic figure he once was still smolders within him. It won't let him give up entirely, and it won't let him stand aside while others are suffering. So he trudges on, endlessly, wishing he could give up but not being able to.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Ziel needs people who knew him when he was a hero (either personally, or by reputation) and can try to shake him out of his depressive funk. He also needs younger heroic types (he's 35) who he can end up as a mentor figure for.
Desired CR + Hooks: The number one thing I want is a villain who can be the one that killed his school, who he can then smash into a paste in a moment of catharsis at some later point.
IC Plans: I don't want him to STAY a depressed wreck, obviously. He needs some kind of miracle cure to get his spiritual injuries on the mend, and then he needs friends to yell at him until he stops being full of self-pity, and then he needs to go fight something ten times his size and win.
Other:
He's very tall

Marcille Donato
Canon: Delicious in Dungeon
Character Blurb: Eccentric, anxiety ridden mage studies shady magic for a good cause, keeps on having to eat monsters to survive. Hates it, but hates that they taste good even more.
Faction: Either Flotsom or the Vault
Character AU Name: Marcille Donato
AU Blurb: unavoidable Delicious in Dungeon Spoilers in this bit!
Marcille is a half-elf who, through a freak combination of genetics, actually ended up with a lifespan that is predicted to be far LONGER than even full blooded elves. Realizing that she was going to outlive everyone she cared about, Marcille set about studying magic in hopes of finding a way to extend everyone's lifespans so no one would have to grow old and die.
She did her research at an imperial magic school, which was happy to have her because her mother was a gallant with powerful connections and because Marcille was a fucking genius who could master just about any kind of magic they put in front of her thanks to her knack for understanding the fundamental principles of all sorcery.
Marcille, having lived a pretty sheltered life up to now, felt no compunctions about working with the Empire. She specialized in a brand of ancient magic that allowed the caster to tap into outside power sources for their spells, allowing you to cast far more powerful spells than you could on your own. Unfortunately, the Empire found her research interesting and just took it. They LOVED the idea of using random civilians as mana batteries that could just be used up to cast big dramatic spells, which was NOT what Marcille had in mind.
After she tried and failed to get her research back on her own, Marcille fled and turned to the rebellion, hoping to get their help in figuring out a way to stop the imperial mage academy from starting to teach black magic to all their students.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Marcille is very motivated and very powerful, but she's not really experienced in being a cool adventurer/freedom fighter. People who can cover for her obvious blind spots and force her to step out of her comfort zone would definitely help.
Desired CR + Hooks: Obviously I want the other dunmeshis but generally I want her to be surrounded by weirdos who drive her crazy, lovingly.
IC Plans: Okay so my DREAM is for someone to play Dragon Chimera Falin in a villain slot as an imperial bioweapon that was created using her research. Then we can do a plot about capturing her and de-dragoning her and then she and Marcille can be cute and gay about each other.

Junia
Canon: Darkest Dungeon
Character Blurb: Nun fails in her duties due to being, um...distracted, and is sent to be punished in a dungeon. After having a divine revelation about the nature of purity, she breaks out and goes on the run, but gets roped into a mission to save the world
Faction: Elysium, perhaps
<--!AU SPECIFIC ONLY!-->
Character AU Name: Junia. She gave up her last name as a sign of devotion to her order.
AU Blurb: Junia grew up in a convent dedicated to venerating The Divine, but always was curious about the outside world. It all came to a head when she failed in her duties due to the aforementioned "distractions" going on outside the window of her convent. Outraged that she had let the Sacred Flame go out, the priests sent her to the dungeon where she would be "purified" IE tortured to death.
She waited for the divine retribution that she felt sure she had earned, but all that was waiting for her was men with chains and whips. It was there, in the dark, that she had a revelation. The Divine had created her soul, and knew it in its entirety. To be interested in love and all it's myriad facets was no crime or sin, it was the most natural thing a human being could do.
In this moment, Junia's holy powers awakened, giving her the strength she needed to escape the dungeon. She made her way back up to the surface to tell her sisters what she had discovered, but found that, in a fit of religious fervor and fear that her "heresy" had spread to the rest of the convent, the priests of the Divine had sealed all the rest of the convent into the dormitories and bricked up the doors and windows. She could still hear them clawing feebly at the other side of the fresh masonry, but had no tools that could break it down and angry inquistors were RIGHT behind her.
Not knowing what else to do, Junia fled. She has since been preaching heretical concepts about The Divine and love and forgiveness to anyone who will listen, and as such has probably been on the run from the Empire for a while before actually making contact with the Corsairs.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Pretty much everyone Junia ever knew is either dead, or wants HER dead. She grew up sealed off from the outside world and doesn't know many people right now.
Desired CR + Hooks: Anyone who's interested in discussing RELIGION. Alternatively, anyone who can introduce Junia to the world of debauchery that she has determined isn't actually a sin as long as it isn't hurting anyone.
IC Plans: The Setting guide specifically mentions that the Crimson Corsairs reject the Divine dogma the Empire preaches, citing it as one of the Empire's many tools to keep the populace under control. Junia still believes in the concept of the Divine, but has come to a VERY different conclusion about what its nature is, which probably will lead to some friction. The idea of starting a schism within the church is JUICY, as is the question of "if the Divine really IS just controlling and terrible and awful, where are her new holy powers coming from?"

Also I need someone to do this to her

Leonides
Canon: Original
Character Blurb: A squad of space marines form a bond of friendship and mutual respect with a team of precures, but with the serial numbers filed off. Leonides is the inexperienced rookie who, due to everyone else being even MORE inexperienced, just got promoted to Captain and is kind of freaking out because he doesn't know if he can handle the pressure and also because a bunch of small girls just shot a giant rainbow beam and a chaos demon and now the demon turned back into a normal human??? WHAT IS GOING ON??????
Faction: Vault, perhaps?
<--!OU SPECIFIC ONLY!-->
Arrival: I think Leonides was reluctantly willing to sign up with the Empire for lack of a better plan, right up until they had him swear upon The Divine. Being a STAUNCH atheist, Leonides refused. There was an altercation and now he's in jail, ready to be rescued by the Corsairs.
Desired CR: Leonides was raised to reject gods and magic in favor of the power of humanity working together. Which isn't to say he's super rational about it. It's a cult just as much as any religion, even if it preaches the downfall of all gods and demons. Other than that, he's a big tough stoic guy who's been genetically modified and cybernetically enhanced to be a perfect killing machine. He'll be a valuable asset to the Corsairs once he's all signed up.
IC Plans: Be big and stoic and honorable and super ready to just murk some dudes who need to be murked. Slightly alarm people with descriptions of the despotic hell hole he came from. Be confused by magic. Also: a side quest later on to rescue his power armor and weapons from some imperial laboratory would be GREAT.
Other: Something something grim darkness of the far future something something only war something. What Leonides was dealing with before crash landing on planet Waba, vs What he is dealing with ON planet Waba
Iren Suto
Canon: original
Character Blurb: fleeing an arranged marriage, an upper class woman makes a deal with a dying god to become his high priestess in return for safety. Together, they rebuild the god’s last temple into a cafe/bar that relies on god power to travel from world to world. Iren becomes a barkeep for a bar that shows up on strange alien worlds to take care of people who need a drink and to play interdimensional tourist
Faction: Elysium
Character AU Name: Irene Graf. Still uses Iren Suto as a pseudonym
AU Blurb: Irene was born of the elite, the daughter of a count and wanted for very little, growing up. Her life was largely blessed until, in a terrible stupid accident involving a drunken airship pilot, she lost her older brother and mother in one moment.
She could have recovered from that loss, but the truth is in that moment she lost her father too. Unable to face the loss of his don and wife, Count Graf spent extravagant amounts of money on elaborate parties and indulged in all of the worst habits of Imperial nobles. He blew through the family’s considerable fortune in a few years and, when the creditors started to make noise, arranged for his daughter to be married into a rich but lower class family.
Irene did her best to get to know her betrothed, but he was a distinctly unlikable young man, and the idea of getting married at all was profoundly disturbing to her.
Iren fled one night, rather than face a future of producing heirs with the little toad. As an aristocratic brat, she had few useful skills for surviving on her own, so it was a stroke of luck that her haphazard flight took her to the forgotten ruins of a temple to Morrah, god of travelers and hospitality.
Morrah had lost most of his power and was little more than a ghost at this point, but as a god of hospitality it went against everything he was to not help her. Morrah used the last vestiges of his power to move them half way across the world to Innistis.
There, safe for the moment, the dying god and the runaway noble made a deal. Irene Graf, noble scion, became Iren Suto, barkeep and owner of The Laughing Toadstool. She also became Morrah’s high priest (his only priest). Every satisfied customer fed the god of hospitality a little bit. In return, Morrah blessed her establishment and taught her how to run a business, something she certainly had no experience with before.
The Corsairs found out her true identity and are simultaneously protecting her and blackmailing her, though everyone is very polite about it. Iren is a mage of modest talent, but not interested in fighting openly. Instead, in exchange for protection, she allows revolutionaries to use her business as a safe house at times and a place to exchange information at other.
Preestablished CR Hooks:
IC Plans: OU Iren mobilized her bar via elaborate teleportation magic. I figure this incarnation will have the long term goal of turning her bar into an airship for much the same reason.
Other: I got nothing.

Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Character Blurb: The newly-crowned king of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, a nation in the land of Fódlan. A young man with a traumatic past and just got done fighting a war. Has a strong sense of justice -- and his sense of what is wrong can end up being too strong, which has led to some major issues in his past and still leaves him with a strong sense of self-loathing. Loves sparring and weapons.
Faction: Undecided
Arrival: Haven't decided yet, open to plotting!
Desired CR: Dimitri really needs a good, close group of friends who will keep him from indulging in too much self-loathing and will call out his bad habits. His canon friend group, the Blue Lions, all work extremely well for this, but I'm definitely open to others. But anyone who can help him understand that he's a good person and doing the right thing would be loved.

AU Blurb: Little has changed, really: there may be more emphasis on the sea and it’s bounty, as well as disgust at the extravagance and waste of Imperial court feasts. Senshi remains a weird dude who forages and fishes and makes damn sure his allies get proper nutrition.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Senshi almost certainly has a shop or tavern in the Flotsam fleet and regularly outfits adventurers in need of provision; he also goes on adventures/foraging expeditions on the regular and may have particular groups he trusts to go with him.
Desired CR + Hooks: Dunmeshi cast are love. But also, a son or daughter figure he can teach the trade to would be love, as well as honorable competition as a provisioner.
IC Plans: I plan for Senshi to be a Supplier and Combatant. Would love some actual dungeon delves as well!
Other: Ask me about cuisines of the factions and Empire!

Angelika von Marson
Canon: Original Tabletop Character (Originating game: Trails of Valor)
Character Blurb: Angelika von Marson was originally born
Konrad August Auria, a bastard child of a Knight of the Grim, one of a order of devotion to securing dangerous artifacts to protect the faith. After the child's mother died, they too found their way into that order, following a friend and trying to keep him safe-and also find that long-lost father. However, while on a mission to explore some ruins for lost artifacts, that young knight became lost and...lost some time. Seven days later, the child awoke-now in a totally different body, with no memory of the intervening time. What she did have now was a lot of gender euphoria-and a very, very short dress. So, after getting out of the ruins, and getting some new clothes, she constructed a new name-and a new identity with the help of a considerate scholar. Unbeknownst to her, however, the body she now had was an artificial one, and one constructed for the very specific purpose of archiving and accessing information. A purpose she put it to, even without knowing...and as she joined the same government special forces division as four other young people. Wielding powerful magic to heal and to harm those who stand against them, she would rise to the times, and begin to tap her true power in a story yet unfolding...Faction: Vault, but can maintain a brisk correspondence with other factions in the pursuit of Knowledge.
<--!AU SPECIFIC ONLY!-->
AU Blurb: We're going to keep the broad strokes of the backstory largely the same-militant religious order, 'gosh life sucks'-*gender euphoria*-'oh wait, life really sucks and I'm a girl.' Then, escape to our heroic faction, and tutelage under a sage.
However, I think that the Empire might have made her body, rather than finding it as an artifact or it being left alone in a ruin for a thousand years or more? Angelika is also a devoted religious girl-the Empire might not care about divinities, but she does, and she'll possibly give a stern talking to anyone in the church who doesn't respect actual gods. Once she meets a few, anyways.
Angelika's instincts are to play her cards close to her chest, but also to present a pleasant, likeable persona to anyone she meets. She actually is pleasant and likeable, but she doesn't see any reason to burden those around her with her troubles or problems. So while people might know her, they are unlikely to know her full deal.
Preestablished CR Hooks: Angelika is flexible enough to run spy missions or combat missions, but can mostly be found happily reading her way through all of the Vault's archives. She also probably has already begun setting up her book club/correspondence network on the Ether-net. If she is roused to anger, she fights with experimental magic-water element, generally, but she can also warp space, or use ether crystals beyond the capabilities of others. She's a bit more delicate than is typical, but concentrates more power on healing and dealing damage herself than taking it.
Desired CR + Hooks: While Angel's mom is dead, her father is yet another deadbeat dad-and one who was pretty high up in the imperial military or church, and has probably risen higher in the past 18 or so years. Once she taps the power of her archive, she can copy combat data from others-both friend and foe.
Angelika is also the bearer of Immortal Frame: Archivist, which may contain all sorts of information the empire would dread to get into the hands of others. And while she might look externally human, she's internally more like some sort of homonculus. And there are at least two other immortal frames in the game she's from-one a younger boy, and one older woman.
Her original body might still be out there-who knows what that guy is doing? NOT ME.
IC Plans: Angelika is a sucker for cute boys who are protective. She also has a history of failing to actually act on it, but she can dream. She wants to befriend and make common cause with many people-and also, maybe, fight for true holiness and justice. But first, she wants to finish her master-degree equivalent before she turns 18.
Other: Does anyone want to go fishing?

Character Name: Donnie / Donatello
Canon: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Character Blurb: One of four brothers, arguably the smartest and undeniably the most clever when it comes to technology, whether working them out, creating or fixing them. Just slightly feral. Craves attention like your typical middle child. Like his brothers he's been trained in martial arts by his adoptive father, and despite Splinter largely letting the boys run around and do whatever they please like wild little beasts, they're all very close and willing to do anything to keep each other safe.
Faction: Torn between Flotsom and Vault, leaning towards the Vault
AU Blurb: Just spitballing ideas here,
I'm allergic to trying to write out full backgroundsSeparated from his family when he was caught during a salvaging trip. Naturally he's accused of stealing but a Noble recognizes some potential in what he can do so he ends up being a servant, but while he's made promises and flattered for his work he ultimately never gets credited for anything. The Corsairs catch rumors of the progress said Noble's been making and after looking into things, manage to liberate him. Now exposed to a much bigger world than what he's known, while Donnie wants to return to his family he has no idea if they're okay and if so, doesn't want to draw attention to them. Besides, he's got an Empire to burn down.
Preestablished CR Hooks:
Isn't this kid a little too young to be developing weapons? He sure does like to make destructive things and is perhaps disconcertingly good at it- probably nothing to worry about. He's likely going to be scooped up by the Vault so Vaultees, holla! Maybe he's taken apart something of yours that you left lying around and it's led to a strange ...acquaintanceship. Or maybe you just think he's a pest. Careful, he bites.
Desired CR + Hooks: Something familial might be something he'd subconsciously seek given he's separated from his actual family. He's a little distrustful of people because of the times he's been burned but responds all too eagerly to praise or acknowledgement of his ability, mostly because those are things he's never positively received.
He might be more inclined/open to non-humans but he's never really been shy either.
IC Plans: Plans, what plans, taking things as they come!
Other: brain go poof
Re: Aya
Stone's people do not have much in the way of technology, but he is familiar with other cultures having explosives, flying boats, and projectile weapons, so he might be curious about whatever Donnie's doing. Stone is good at poking his nose where it doesn't belong.

I have three different dudes I'm potentially considering tossing into this game so, uh. Behold The Fellas:
Rezo the Red Priest
Canon: Slayers
Character Blurb: Borderline sainted healer and great sage in his world who's the unwitting vessel for a dark god and did a lot of bad shit due to being semi-possessed by said dark god, then died. Twice. In terms of demeanor Rezo is vaguely affable, formal, but kind, with a definite eccentric bent... And he can be alarmingly cold when he has a goal to pursue. At heart, though, he's just a sad-ass old man. He's a villain in his canon but wouldn't be one here because the Empire did not endear itself to him by pulling him from his world and enslaving him.
Since his main claim to fame/skill is healing magic, I like the idea of him maybe having been allowed to utilize it during his time as a slave- primarily via patching up other slaves who'd been injured in the line of work (or by a noble's whim) enough to put them in working condition again. He'll definitely prefer to work primarily as a healer once he's part of the Crimson Corsairs, even though he does have offensive magic.
Also he's blind and has a lot of internalized ableism about it.
Faction: Either Vault or Elysium. He's enough of a mad scientist that he'd do well in Vault, but he has a sufficiently high charisma stat that he could handle working in Elysium.
Arrival: I like the idea of him having been just rescued from the Empire, but having been living in Esthere as a "servant" for long enough to learn the language and understand the political situation.
Desired CR:
- He’s a canonical Bad (surrogate) Dad but ironically I’ve found in games he tends to bond with optimistic, upstanding youths and kids pretty easily. I don’t expect there to be a lot of kid characters but if your character has shonen protagonist energy and could do with a mentor figure with a dubious past, Rezo’s your man.
- Rezo’s character has a lot of baggage tied up in being both a disabled guy and a healer and subsequently I enjoy bouncing him off of other disabled characters, particularly ones that have a healthier mindset about their disabilities than he has.
- Fellow nerds are ALWAYS welcome.
IC Plans: Rezo’ll be pretty depressed after [canon events] and then getting tossed into Esthere’s situation, so my main goal for him would be to get him properly invested in other people and in being alive and to actually care about the rebellion rather than just going “Eh, it’s better than working for Those Guys.”
Other:
truly the greatest tragedy of his situation will be being without his canon outfit and thus unable to dramatically swoosh his cape like this

Matt Murdock | MCU | AU
Canon: Daredevil, Netflix/MCU
Character Blurb: In his original canon, Matt is a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night. Matt was blinded in an accident as a child and gained super senses as a result. He was trained to fight, but tried to follow life as an ordinary lawyer. When his neighborhood became overwhelmed by violent crime, however, he decided to put on a mask and use his skills to protect his neighbors.
Faction: Death God role- currently aiming for Hades
AU Blurb: Similar to his OU story, Matt is in an accident that blinds him and also gives him super senses.
He starts off the son of a priestess of the old religion and a fighter (could be underground rings, could be something bigger like a gladiator, maybe both). His mother leaves him with his father, and his father tries to establish a road forward for Matt to have an education and safer career. The accident that blinds Matt makes his father fear for his future. Matt's father makes a deal with a fixer to throw fights for better kickbacks. Eventually, Matt's father is murdered by the fixers.
Those looking out for Matt contact his mother, and the old church takes him into their hidden village for a while. Matt's senses grow over the years towards the super level of the present, causing him terrible pain. Eventually he learns to control his senses and how to fight from a teacher with similar abilities and ulterior motives. This teacher was secretly training him to be a warrior for one of the many movements against the Empire. (I'm thinking part of a cult that is against the Empire but has questionable practices.) Matt's teacher abandons him just before initiation though, believing he's too sentimental to be a warrior, leaving Matt to figure out his path from there.
Matt reads as many braille books as he can get his hands on and enters a career. (I haven't decided what career this is yet. There are no lawyers in the Empire after all.) Matt makes friends, and lives happily for some time. (Still deciding where. Maybe Elysium? Maybe somewhere he could cross paths with other AU characters?) Occasionally he causes trouble for Imperial soldiers and other violent figures, stopping some attacks on civilians while hiding his identity. (To mirror his vigilante life in canon.) He crosses paths with Corsairs sometimes, but overall sticks to protecting his local community and doesn't join them.
The Empire attacks the underground church where Matt worshipped the old gods with others. He puts up a fight, but is eventually killed in battle.
Matt meets what remains of Hades in the underworld. The old Hades has seen his commitment to justice, and offers him a chance to return to the mortal realm in exchange for taking on the burden of the god title. Matt agrees and becomes the new Hades.
For some time, Matt has been lurking, observing the Corsairs (and his old friends and family) from afar, while reestablishing and rebuilding some of the old shrines and churches to the old gods. He eventually decides to reveal himself to the Corsairs, deciding they can be trusted to help him in return for his power to aid how he can in the rebellion.
Preestablished CR Hooks:
-Insight Into Others option- I was thinking being Hades might give him an "identification of souls" ability, granting insight into other characters at the player's discretion. Mostly basic stuff like name and if they're meant to go to the good or bad place at that point of time, but with the added option of letting Matt learn things the player wants to get out to someone for plot or CR reasons. (His senses also contribute to this, as seen on canon, though that info is more about physical clues.) A permissions post will be posted on his journal and it would be up to other players what information gets through if any. He's still weak for a god, so it makes sense if his powers don't always work.
-Native AU Characters who worship the old gods- It might get weird for him after a lifetime of worshipping the old gods himself, to technically be close to being one. (He'll think of it more like being a very special priest who can wield the power, even when casually walking into the underworld.) It might be exciting, confusing, or offensive to others from the same religion as him.
-Death Flag option- Want your character to die and know it's coming? Want them to be marked for death but given the chance to avoid it? Perhaps Matt can sense their mark of death and warn them.
Desired CR + Hooks: I'm open to CR from most of the mentioned areas of his backstory. Doesn't have to be positive CR- I'm cool with negative too. Matt is generally a nice guy, but his old friends might be angry that he pretended to be dead for at least a year. And with his new position and power, he tends to be associated, as Death is, with bad news.
IC Plans: None yet! I'm waiting to see what the situation is when I app. I do have a few missions in mind he can bring to the Corsairs.
