Welcome to Viva La's Character Plotting post! This is a permanent post that will be re-linked at the beginning of the month where players can workshop character concepts and plan CR or plots.

Players are encouraged to look through and comment on past and current entries made by others. While this is not required, we recommend having a frozen comment reply on your top-level to use for noting potential connections or plans.

OU CHARACTERS
OU (Original Universe) characters are apped to the game unchanged from their original source material. Original Characters (OCs) who are pulled from their respective, original setting are included in this group. OU Characters reach Esthere through the Empire’s use of the Servant’s Gate, a powerful portal that draws people from other worlds into this one. The Empire has set the gate in an enclosed room where they will immediately subdue the target, strip them of all their gear, and press them into servitude. But, the gate doesn’t always work as intended, so characters may arrive somewhere outside of the room and manage to escape before being enslaved by the Empire. Either way, the characters will come in either as established Crimson Corsairs who are just stepping into the spotlight having been found or liberated prior, or newly-found or liberated members who are joining the Crimson Corsairs. OU characters can use this post to seek potential CR or preestablished CR if they’re coming in as more experienced members.

AU CHARACTERS
AU (Alternate Universe) characters are characters from established canons (including original settings for OCs) whose backstory has been adapted to fit within the game setting. For AU characters, they may resemble their canon counterparts quite a bit, but they were born in the world of Esthere and have always lived there. AU characters are encouraged to use this post to develop who they are and what their place is in the world, which could include things like familial connections to other AU characters and achievements prior to the start of the game. AU characters will either be established members of the Crimson Corsairs who are just now stepping into the spotlight, or they can be green recruits who just joined up.

Character Name: Kainé
Canon: NieR: Replicant ver.1.22474487139
Character Blurb: Kainé is a companion and deuteragonist of NieR, who accompanies Nier after he helps her kill Hook. The left side of her body is possessed by a Shade who dubs himself Tyrann. As a result of her upbringing and Tyrann's occupation of her body, she has a disposition towards being crude and violent, but occasionally shows off a kinder side, especially toward Emil.

Kaine has an aggressive, cold, and crude personality with her most notable characteristic being her very foul-mouthed demeanor towards nearly everyone aside from Emil. Her childhood and years of being an outcast has caused her to become bitter yet lonely, adding to her irrational anger and loathing of Shades and those who she perceives to be enemies. However, this tough exterior served to hide her emotions and self-hatred about her past along with secrets that she was unwilling to tell anyone. Kaine is an independent and determined person, occasionally revealing a kinder, thoughtful, and encouraging side to her when traveling as Nier's companion throughout their journey.


Faction: Undecided

Arrival: Probably want to play out her being conflicted over whether to join since she's pretty Unsociable. So would be after rescue!

Desired CR: FAMILY, friends, rivals, other badass ladies or people who can turn the air blue, romantic ships (I love playing these out with her because she deserves nice things). Again, anything except negative CR that stays negative. It's OK to start out at odds, in fact, I love doing that!

I don't know Nier all that well, but I know enough about Kaine to support her app in because it'd be absolutely hilarious. I know Musse here would get a kick out of her at the very least.

As a Drakenier fan as well I have to yell about Kainé.

But also two socially awkward funnily strong white-haired characters. Who have at some point had houseguests in their bodies. The conversations they could eventually...at some point...manage to have.

Haha! It's funny you should mention that because I was actually going to ask the mod(s?) if I could possibly play her with Tyrann since it would require a lot of headcanon to play him in the game as a separate character (though people could play Masayoshi Yura).

But yeah, since you're canon familiar, you know he'd have to work to gain her trust before she'd spill any secrets!

Oh man, Tyrann would be fun. I hope they'll give you the go-ahead, since he is part of the package for the majority of the game. Who doesn't want a backseat driver?

Id sure would... Kainé's really been through it. He isn't the sort who'd go prodding if she didn't open that door first, which would probably be best. Id's a consistently calm and controlled type, which I can see being a funny contrast with her.
